About WiWP

In these unique, innovative workshops, students travel to remote locations throughout the world to connect with the beauty, energy and power of the wild landscape and then – through a facilitated contemplative and creative process – translate that response into non-objective paintings.

Our workshops offer more than creative exploration; they cultivate a profound engagement with nature and a renewed connection with ourselves and the creative spirit that unites us all. These experiences are about living intentionally and with meaning. Whether we’re in the ancient mountains of Arcadia in Greece, walking the sandy shores of the Outer Hebrides, or resting on the warm limestone rocks of Ireland’s Burren, we select remote, awe-inspiring places around the world. Here, among like-minded souls, we share transformative moments. Each day, along with painting, we find fuel in nourishing food, breathtaking hikes, meditation, poetry, and writing—elements that enrich our art and revive our spirits.

Our workshops go further still, fostering a deep and essential connection with the earth. At this critical time of climate emergency, we aim to rekindle a relationship with nature that encourages us to care for and protect it.

Details

Held in small comfortable lodges in remote, wild locations, these abstract painting workshops guide participants to connect with the land in various ways, and translate that connection into non-objective paintings. There will be brief daily meditations, quiet time, journalling, sketching, group discussions, and lots of time for painting. The focus is on connecting with the land.
